  16. Thanks for the hints... however, I am still getting the same errors.  I have
  17. tried setting both the user and group owner of wermit to uucp.    I played with
  18. the SUID and SGID bits on wermit.  I tried changing the owner of /dev/cua1
  19. from root to uucp.  But I am still getting:
